Debademba, meaning 'big family' is based around the extraordinary guitarist Abdoulaye Traoré (Burkina Faso) and the equally remarkable singer Mohamed Diaby (Mali/Ivory Coast). 

They share a vision of mixing African styles, rooted in the Manding culture and influenced by the cultural crossroads of Paris. This leads to an exciting concoction of Wassoulou and Ivoirian rhythms and harmonies meeting Arabic-Andalusian influences, Ethiopian sounds, Afro-funk, African salsa and the universal blues.

Debademba released a number of albums: Debademba (2011), Souleymane (2013), Live in Hertme (2016), Sinakouya (2017). A new album is being recorded for release in 2023.
